Well folks, it's the very last post for the Fat Quarter Gang.  Sad but true.  :(  It's been such great fun and the projects have been so wonderfully, fantastic.  Thank you so much to Art Gallery Fabrics for letting me play along with such a talented group!

Jellybeans!

So my dear friend, Thomas sent me some of his beloved Jellybean fabric.  They are a smaller version of the eggs he created for Pear Tree and I heart them immensely!!!   I've been in love with this print since......geez....I think before they were even a fabric.  (I recall getting a sneak peek from Mr. Knauer before they went to print.)  

Thomas decided to do a little Jellybean-a-Thon and I am all too happy to be playing along.  I don't think you're ready for this jelly. 

I've been collecting notions and things in preparation for my booth at Quilt Market this Spring.  A few days ago, I received a shipment of my favorite zippers from Japan. I was oh so eager and itching to dive into them and knew that the Jellybeans were screaming to be made into wee pouches, just for me. (I never make anything for myself anymore it seems. Who has time?? Am I right??)  

I really love the contrast of colors that he used on the various prints and I'm loving that they all just work so well together even though the colors are so vastly different.  Nice work my firend!  

I especially adore what he did with this group when creating this quilt.  

After some close examination of said quilt at QuiltCon, it led me to believe that these fabric would make for an incredible Marcelle Medallion!!  Don't you think???  Of course you do!  You wouldn't be here if you didn't agree with me, right?  Joking. ^_~ 

Well, time got away from me this week, pouches will have to do for now, but you'll definitely see me revisiting these Jellies for that Medallion! (There's a #MedallionAlong (#MarcelleMedallion) on Instagram! Yay!)

Boucherouite!

Boucherouite!  Don't you love that word?  Yeah, I had to look up the pronounciation myself.  It's pronounced boo-shay-REET and it's a word derived from a Moroccan-Arabic phrase for torn and reused clothing. A Google image search of the term brings up tons of pretty eye candy.  

Speaking of eye candy, my third Fat Quarter Gang tutorial is ready to roll.   Boucherouite, you say?  No, I'm serious, check it out!  I LOVE to sew, but every now and then I like to whip up projects that don't require a needle and thread.  These boxes seemed to fit the bill.  They're going to hang out with me in my studio.  Find the tutorial here!

I made this pretty box using super, awesome Sarah Watson's Boucherouite Blush fabric from her Luxe in Bloom collection.  *swoon*  I looooooove her work.  She's totally my homegirl......okay in my head.  :D

I also can't wait to get my hands on Indian Summer.  *more swoon*

Spoonflower, Quilt Market, and Me!

It's Quilt Market time!!!!! Woooooot!  *does the Quilt Market boogie*  

I'm so extra excited about this trip because I'll be showing my collection with Cloud 9 Fabrics! Yeeeeeeaaaaaaahooooo!  I'm not excited. No really, I'm not. Cross my heart and kiss my elbow. :P  

The best part is that sweet Kim over at Spoonflower graciously asked little ol' me to do a series of report posts for the Spoonflower blog about my preparations leading up to and during the show!  So thrilled I tell you. I'll be posting weekly about what I'm up to in all of it's frantic, spazzing out, okay time to relax it will be okay, glory. Anything about QM you want to know about, see, ask?  My first post (psssst....strike offs! ^_^) is up now, so please come along and join me on my journey to International Quilt Market in Houston!

I'm so happy that so many of you like my airplane!  One of the comments I received asked about making it bigger and I thought, "What a FANTASTIC idea!".  So I'm working on making templates available for those of you who would like to make a JUMBO jet! I'll keep you posted!

I got the swatches back from Spoonflower for my Cloudy Clouds print!!  The colors came out a bit more muted than I expected and at first I was slightly disappointed.  But I think I really like them this way!  

I went ahead and made the print available at my shop, but please be aware of the color difference.  Just seeing these in print are making me even MORE anxious for my next collection to be born.  Can't wait!

Well, my Littles are back in school and although I miss them terribly it's been great for me to catch up on some projects I need to finish.  Not a lot since I still have my sweet Matty here with me and he keeps me pretty busy! 

I recently finished up another mini quilt that was going to be used for a special project, but it fell through sadly.  I don't have a pic of the finished quilt as of yet, but I took a pic of the top when I was finished with it a while back.  I promise to post pics of the finished quilt when I'm not busy being a lazy slug. :P

So here it is!  Presenting ........'Mod Hexies'  

I was cruising through Pinterest one day and saw this incredible tile floor (which I can't seem to find now. Boooo.) and I just KNEW that it had to be a quilt! Pinterest is good for something other than drooling I tell ya!  I really do get A LOT of inspiration there these days.  

I'm thinking about posting the tutorial for it here, but I haven't made up my mind as of yet.  It's completely machine pieced and sews up pretty quick.  It looks complicated but it's truly not so! Those are the best types of quilts if you ask me! ^_~ 

Cloudy!

So now that everything is squared away for my new collection 'Tsuru' with Cloud9 Fabrics, I can show you one of the prints that Michelle and I decided not to use!

 

Just some happy, graphic, giant clouds! ^_^ 

 

I made these pretty large (Click the photo to see them full scale.)and I'm waiting on samples to arrive from Spoonflower so that I can see how they look.    

 

This print will be available in my Spoonflower shop very soon!  I'm thinking of adding a small scale version as well!

 

Anyway, just a little preview to whet your fabric appetite until Tsuru starts shipping in December.

Happy to present a little teaser for you today. :P  The logo for my new collection with the fantabulous Cloud9 Fabrics!! Yippee!

Tsuru means 'crane' in Japanese, so that's just a wee hint of what the collection theme is about. ^_~ Stay on the look out for some sneak peeks of the prints!  I'm so utterly and ridiculously giddy with excitement for this collection to debut!

Zakka Style Sew Along!

Dear, sweet Lindsey asked me a while back if I would mind if she hosted a sew along for my new book Zakka Style.  But of course I don't mind! ^_^
