Hey there friends. I know! I haven't posted since last year!! Gah! But luckily last year was just a month ago, right? :P
I've been a busy bee, working on tons of projects that sadly I can't talk about at the moment. If I tell you then the feds might come knocking on your door and I don't think you want that. Okay, not really, but it would be nutty if they showed up because of sewing projects! Anyway, I'll be a good girl and keep it to myself for the moment. ^_~
What I can tell you though is that my beloved, sweet, precious, Washi collection is here! Yippee!
Here's a little baby quilt that I whipped up with the new group and I'm quite in love with it! I love it even more than the first, which is saying a lot.
The pattern is based off of a vintage quilt I saw on a Japanese blog some time ago. I haven't been able to locate the name of this block anywhere or anything similiar. My Japanese isn't that great anymore, but from what I can tell it's called "Crazy Star" and it's supposedly very rare.
I was able to figure out the pattern in Illustrator, so I'm thinking of putting up a tutorial for it. (That is only if enough people are interested. So do let me know.) It's SO super easy to do and sews up failry quickly, so a large quilt could be made in this pattern in no time.
Here's my crappy iPhone pic before I quilted it:
Love it! So, Washi doesn't officially debut until Spring Market, but you my quilty friends are some super lucky ducks! It's available at quite a few shops already! Yippee!
I've also started a Flickr Group for the collection. I'm DYING to see what you make with it!!! *faints*
There are already some gorg-awesome projects there:
1. Washi quilt top done. I am so in love, 2. Washi Pillow, 3. first 241 tote
Please join the group and share your work with everyone! Inspiration is best served shared. ^_~
Ciao!
