Yeah, I feel like I've been in a daze lately....so much going on around here! Hey guys! Remember me! ^_^
So we've finally settled into our new home and I'm enjoying it SO much! I didn't really feel inspired at our old place, but that has changed and I'm starting to feel like crafty myself again.
I've started sprucing up the place for Christmas! Yaaay! Anyone who knows me well, knows that at night I turn into a mad sewingtist and all of my really good ideas happen then. Well this one was no different....it's our new Advent Calendar!
I wanted to make something really fast and simple that I thought the kids would enjoy, so I came up with this little cutie. It was so super duper easy to put together! How cool is it that exactly 25 triangles make up the shape of a tree?! SO frikkin cool! So here's what I did:
I stitched up the tree with some green scraps I had.
I've had this lovely linen with snowflakes that I bought on Etsy many, many moons ago that was just sitting in my stash. I never could figure out what to use it for and this was the perfect project for it. So I added it as the background and Ironed on some fusible fleece to the back.
Next I went to Office Depot and bought a cheap 18 x 24 cork bulletin board and removed the frame. Whipped out my staple gun..(my favorite non-sewing tool to use with fabric) and stapled the lovely to the back of the board.
Finally, I made 25 covered buttons with some red scraps, removed the stems, stamped them, and hot glued some thumb tacks to the back. And voila! Advent calendar! Yaaay! ^_^
So excited to start counting down the days until Christmas with my littles! What super cool Christmas projects have you made? I'd love to see! ^_~
