On April 27, 2011, a record number of tornadoes unleashed their fury against the southern part of the United States. 38 of Alabama's 67 counties were declared disaster areas. Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia also suffered massive destruction.
People just like you and me lost homes, businesses and loved ones in this storm, the second deadliest tornado storm in U.S. history. At last count, over 350 people have died, thousands are homeless and the cost of damages is in the billions of dollars.
The lovelies that are Jenny and Angel over at Stumbles and Stitches have put together a wonderful raffle to benfefit The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services in our Southern States. But just last night tornadoes also hit the Midwest. A massive tornado that tore a 6-mile path across southwestern Missouri killed at least 89 people as it slammed into the city of Joplin. It's even more crucial now that we help as much as we can.
Jenny and Angel's goal is to raise $2000 (or more!) and so far they've raised $1250!! Please join us in rallying together to help their cause. You can see more details here. A plethora of crafty designers (myself included. ^_^) have donated prizes to the raffle to help raise funds for donations. Check it out.....
Every little bit helps. $10 is all it takes to help our neighbors. So please, if you can, run over to Stumbles and Stitches and lend a hand! Thank you Jenny and Angel for all of your hard work putting this together! You ladies are rockstars in my book! ^_^
