There will also be a giveaway on Friday to win a lovely prize handmade by moi over at Petite Purls. So keep your eyes peeled for more deets on that at Petite Purls! Speaking of giveaways, did you peep who won the last giveaway over here? Congrats again Sarah! ^_~
AND speaking of Fridays.....this is for all my Atlanta pals. There is going to be a fun filled Fabric Design Weekend over at Whipstitch Fabrics which kicks off this Friday (9/10/10) night at 6pm.
"We’ve invited four talented local fabric designers–Amy Schimler of Red Fish Circle for Robert Kaufman, Melody Miller of Ruby Star Rising for Kokka of Japan, Ellen Baker of the Long Thread for Spoonflower, and Rashida Coleman-Hale of I (Heart) Linen for Timeless Treasures–to join us in the shop and share their insight, experience and design process as we learn about the world of fabric design."
Check out the site for more details! I'm so excited for this!!! If you live in ATL or will happen to be in the area this weekend, please, please drop on by and say "Hey!!!" We're going to have lots of fabric focused fun, fun, fun!
This book is excellent! Perfect for the modern beginner wanting to sew clothing and the like. It has all of the information you'll ever need plus a bonus cd. You need this book in your library folks. I command you to go and buy it now. *jazz fingers* :P I'm so excited to have Deborah sign my copy! Yay!
I know, the song goes "It's Friday, I'm in love" but it's alwasy good to switch things up isn't it? :P
What am I in love with you ask? Just darn near everything, that's all. Did my U.S. pals have a good holiday weekend? Mine was pretty quiet, but just what I needed.
My mommy is in town from Amsterdam to visit with me, hubby and the bebes.
Hubby grilled for us on the deck two days in a row, the kids finger painted and made a huge fun filled mess, we also went to the Atlanta Botanical Garden.....
It's so incredibly beautiful there. I'm hoping they'll let me live there. Who needs a house when you've got a humongous beautiful garden like this one? :D
Anyway, we just enjoyed each others company and enjoyed the time off. Now it's back to business!
So there's a winner to announce isn't there? Hmmm.....I guess you've waited long enough.
And the Random Integer gods have chosen....
Sarah's favorite fabric from her stash?
"My very favorite? Oh gosh. The Flea Market Fancy posies and bouquet in the green colorway and Amy Butler Kimono in the curry colorway. I love the bright clear colors in FMF and the complexity of the design of the Kimono. I love how it works in patchwork and looks a little different with each small piece. Oh, and anything from Heather Ross Lightning Bugs. All those fun wee figures and people!"
(I'm a sucker for those Flea Market Fancy fabrics myself. Bring them back Denyse! Pull-leeeaaase! Pretty please with sugar on top? ^_~)
