Hello! I sort of disappeared again. Oops! I'm guessing I needed a little more time away than I though. I've been having an Equinox of my own. So, I'm back. Really. Seriously. *gets down on knees* Please believe me!! :P
Well it's Autumn! My most favorite time of year! *sighs* Oh, how I love it. The crisp air, the amazing colors, the baking, the spices, the apple picking, the sweaters, the holidays, the changes, all the lovely, wonderful, delightful changes!
I can't wait for the leaves to change and I think that's what I love most about this time of year. For some reason, Manhattan seems like it's the last place in New York to see the changes in the leaves. I always end up driving upstate to get my fall foliage fix because I just can't wait!

This is the small speckle of color that is in the trees of our
apartment complex. This one tree is always ahead of the rest. It will
be a bright and stunning shade of red in a few weeks and the rest of
the trees will catch up near the end of November. Quelle dommage! Why do I have to wait so long? *sobs* K, I'm over it now.

Now, everyone always talks about the lovely colors of the Autumn
trees. But what I'm most drawn to is the sky. I know it's the same
sky we see everyday and it's probably the same blue that it is in the
Winter, Spring, and Summer. But to me, the blue sky on a crisp Autumn
morning is the most beautiful shade of blue in the world to me. There
are hardly ever any clouds in the sky and I'm convinced the shade of blue is strikingly different this time of year. Am I just being a sentimental Fall nut job? Maybe. But you can't convince me otherwise! *folds arms and turns head away defiantly*
My husband thinks I'm crazy. But you should take a moment and look at the sky. I bet you'll be in the "Yes, it is a different shade of blue and leave me alone you big meanie you can't change my mind" group too!

Which brings me to these fabrics. I've been trying to capture that blue in one of my projects. This is actually one of the color combinations that will be featured in my book. (SHHHHHH! Don't tell my Editor! You're gonna get me in trouble!!!! ^_^) All the colors and projects have been selected. Several months ago in fact, and I've just been busy plugging away trying to get my projects done in time. 25 of them in fact, due in December. Worst time of year to be working on a book. I'm not biting my nails yet, though. But I can guarantee you I will be by the middle of November. So look out for frantic and completely hysterical posts around that time. Aargh! There is so much that I want to share with you about what I'm doing, but I can't! Eeeeeeeee! I'm bursting!
*edited* Huge thank you to all of you who bid on my calendar! And also to Donita! She won! $100 smackers! Woah mama! ^_^ And thank you to Kim for hosting the auction! You all rock!
