Did I scare you!? No? Oh poo. Maybe next time. ^_^ But I'm sure you're probably surprised to see me finally posting since I've been so scarce lately. I blame today's schools. lol Actually, I've just been straight up t-i-r-e-d. (I'm hiding out in the bedroom with the laptop right now. hehe) I really needed this little bloggy hiatus, but now it's time to come back to blog land. I just miss you guys!! ^_^ I've been lurking a lot of my favorite blogs and seeing all types of cool things happening for the holidays, swaps, A LOT of really clever and lovely crafting. There are some amazingly talented people out there! I love it! But now I'm feeling left out and I'm ready to have some fun again too! I've got so much to post about and share with you, so instead of bombarding you with my ramblings I'll just post a little at a time.
First, my husband and I have been trying to reorganize our lives a little. Things have gotten a little willy nilly around here since little Elijah's arrival. Hubby thought it would be a good idea to paint one of our walls with chalkboard paint. We can right our goals, make lists, keep track of things and of course Bella would have fun doodling on it. I have to say, I wasn't quite sold on the idea. But, since I'm usually the one to get their way with what goes in the house I figured I'd let him have this one. *snickers* So off we go to find chalkboard paint.

(I haven't done one of those fashion drawings in a few years. Nice to know that some of my schooling stuck with me!)

Some of Bella's lovely artwork.......my little Pa-Bella Picasso. ^_^
I'm pleasantly surprised with the results. I thought the black would be
too much, but it looks just fine! We didn't do a large section of the
apartment, just a little nook. And oh my how fun it is!!!! I almost
forgot myself and had to remember to share the chalk with Isabella!
"Oh yeah...uhm.....you're right honey....I'll share with
Bella....*pouts*"
Bella loves the chalk wall too. But now I have to teach her that not everything can be scribbled on with chalk. The rest of the apartment is fair game in her eyes now!
I don't know why we didn't do this sooner. I was almost ready to run around the apartment painting all the walls with this stuff! But I came back to reality. So, okay. Hubby scores.

(He get's 2 beacuse he suggested removing the TV from our bedroom, it was sucking the life out of us.)
Some cool chalkboard paint links if you feel so inclined:
Next, my dear, dear, dear friend Charlene and I did a private swap that seems like it took eons for us to complete. Ha! I think we have to be the slowest swappers on the planet! But it's mostly my fault. I decided to go and have a baby in July. I know! Like I'm married and wanted to start a family or something! Sheesh. (Okay, let me stop joking around before someone takes me seriously! My two pumpkins are the loves of my life!) Anyhoo, I digress. A few weeks ago I received this nice big box all the way from the lovely lush and green Singapore! I ripped that box open like my life depended on it and was pleasantly surprised to find brown paper packages tied up with string! How did she know that these are a few of my favorite things?!

Charlene's the best! She made this lovely tote bag with white linen. J'adore! It's hanging on my wall in my living room and I'm afraid to use it. I don't want to get it dirty. Hmmm...maybe I can frame it. ^_^

Lot's of cutey pie goodies. The little fan I love! I always have a fan with me during the summer (it's the southern gal in me)and Bella broke mine this year. Now I have a replacement yay! Speaking of Bella, she loves the little bag with the kitten on it. She wears it when we go outside and uses it to collect leaves and twigs. So cute! And the pear card holder. Just perfect for my moo cards!

A little hippo stapler and a Bella size Hello Kitty thermos. (It's so funny because I used to have a thermos just like that when I was going to school in Tokyo. I almost fell over when I saw this one, it brought back a lot of girlhood memories. *sighs* ^_^) Some fun magnets and musical cows! Elijah is quite found of the cows. You pull the string and they play this sweet "music box music" and their heads move from side to side.

A pretty green lantern and some lovely jewelry....Charlene did you make those? A copy of "Simple Quilt's" by Yoshiko Jinzenji (ISBN 4140311371) and a notebook to use while creating culinary delights!

She also sent me tons of yummy snacks, but those never made it to this little photoshoot, but they were yummdy yummdy yum!!!!! Thank you Charlene! We must do this again!
Well, that's all for now, more to come this week. I've got a shop update coming up this week and maybe one more after that. Bags, bags, bags baby! I'm thinking Friday the 23rd, but everyone might be too stuffed from all the turkey eating. So I may change it to Monday the 26th. I dunno. I'll let you know.
